Community and Police Unite to Find Missing Lurcher Puppy and Ensure Safety

Seven Lurcher puppies were stolen in Shroton, Dorset. Six have been recovered, and efforts continue to locate the last puppy while suspects face burglary charges.

A heartwarming quest is underway to find the last of seven adorable Lurcher puppies, who were taken from their devoted mother over three weeks ago, leaving both the puppies and their family in distress.

Stolen Puppies Found

On the night of December 28, these precious five-week-old pups were stolen from their home in Shroton, located near Blandford Forum in Dorset.

Thankfully, the local community banded together, and the efforts of the Dorset Police Rural Crime Team led to a breakthrough.

On New Year’s Eve, three of the puppies were found, offering a glimmer of hope amid a tough situation.

As the days of the new year passed, joyous news arrived on January 9 when two more of the sweet pups were returned, brought to a veterinary clinic in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.

Shortly after, a sixth little one was discovered wandering near Ocean Vets in Alderholt, East Dorset.

This puppy required some medical attention for a leg injury, but the good news is that all of them are now safe and receiving proper care.

Police Investigation

Dorset Police are actively pursuing the return of the final puppy to its family, while also working to ensure justice for those involved in the theft.

They have arrested a 28-year-old man from East Dorset and a 22-year-old woman from Wimborne on suspicion of burglary; both are currently on bail.

Another suspect, a man in his 40s, is also on police bail for allegedly handling stolen goods, as the investigation unfolds.

Community Support

Determined to turn this story into a happy ending, the police are urging anyone who might have seen something or possess information about the case to step forward.

With the support of a caring community and a collective determination, there is hope that soon, the final puppy will be back in the loving embrace of its home.
